In which Marvin concludes his tale and reveals exactly why the pastor and Dolores hauled him into the church office. If you have not done so yet, first listen to Marvin Returns and Marvin Returns (part 2) to get the full story.
The other day I received the following e-mail from Susanne, a woman who found out her some years ago that her husband has same-sex attractions. I felt so moved by her words that I asked her permission to share them with you on the blog. I (recently) saw your Doin Time... and I was the one who asked about your wife during the discussion period that followed. I just read your thoughts on What About the Spouse ....and I can say, most women who find out their husbands are gay feel ALL of those things you wondered about....some in more degrees than others... When my husband was dragged out of the closet because of his irreverent, immoral, and amoral behavior that our, then, 14 and 16 year old sons had to find on our home computer, I went into the closet. I didn't know what to pray for.... Do I pray that this will go away? Do I pray that he could go back to the way things were in our family before we knew about him,? Do I pray that I could go back to the way things were? After all ,...

that's some pastor you've got there. first he censors you, then he trys to buy you off. sounds to me like he's hiding something...maybe something about that dead evangelist. geez...i hate to sound skeptical, but this guy sounds like the kind of guy who could sell ice to eskimos. just ask yourself...what are you willing to sell yourself for...judas sold himself for 30 pieces of silver. are you selling yourself for a bag of cheap goodies and a spot on the "leadership" team?

This story is starting to sound really weird. I'm really glad you're happy, but I think Jonathan above may have a point. What are you actually doing as a co-leader, just bringing the refreshments? How does that help you share the gospel?
I'm not saying you should be mercenary about your relationship with your church, but having a look at what the church gets out of you, and what you get out of the church, and where God's place in all of this is, could be worth your time.
(I'm sorry this is such a late reply, I've not had the time to listen. I will go listen to your next post now. Thanks!)
