No, Clint, it is just that Marvin gets up so much earlier than I do. Most days when I finally get my queer butt on-line, I find he has already called in his audio blog to the blogger switchboard (or however that works).

It is up now; I apologize for my sloth (isn't that a deadly sin?)

I hope it goes well, Marvin, you seem to have quite the task on your hand.

High heels (however goodlooking) are the tools of the devil though. I don't think anyone should be made to wear those.

BTW - aren't they really bad for your calf muscles!

One of my friends used to live in high heels, then got a job as a nursing assistant and part of her uniform was to wear flat nurse style shoes (reaallllllly comfortable - well, for me they would have been!)

Her calf muscles ached for weeks, poor girl was hobbling around the place for ages!

Donna Karan has often said that "The heel makes the leg." Of course it may also destroy the back and the calves, but hey, there is a price to "beauty".

Great line in the movie "She's the Man" when one character tells her mom she doesn't want to wear heels because they were just an invention by some men to keep women from running away.

Marvin...I find it interesting that you didn't think Soon looked like a lesbian when you first met her, but now you think she looks androgynous (therefore, like a lesbian)?

Do you think you were either projecting something onto her when you first met her (because you were so excited about the prophecy and her being your potential wife), or are you perhaps projecting something now that you know she is a lesbian?

Have you heard the expression, "Do you know what you see, or do you see what you know"? Just wondering if it fits here.

Hope you don't mind me asking...I'm just curious (especially as someone who was an ex-gay and has experienced some shifts across the femininity spectrum).

LIA has until Friday, September 23 to respond. If LIA statements in Eartha Jane Melzer's article are indicative to how the "change" program might respond, we may see LIA change right before our eyes from a clinical mental health compound into a house of praise and worship. Puzzled

Last night I performed Transfigurations-Transgressing Gender in the Bible at Imago Dei Metropolitan Community Church in Glen Mills, PA (about 15 miles outside of Philly). I had a diverse audience of about 45 people -- college students, Quakers, straight, bi, trans and lesbian, young and old. I took my time with the piece maintaining a gentle meditative pace. For the ending when I reveal the identity of the narrator, I had instructed the light tech to dim the lights. Then as the closing music swelled, I asked her to raise the lights to their brigthest intensity. With the music playing, I exited. Always (up until last night) at this point the audience applauds, I wait 5 seconds then come out to take a bow. Last night I exited and then nothing. No one clapped.
